I am 35 years old. I am a video journalist with Global News. This means I film, write and edit scripts for television.
However,
journalism evolves with technology. Besides working as a video journalist, I also write scripts for the Web, upload
video and pictures to our news Web site and send instant messages or "tweets" when news is breaking in my coverage area.
People
can access information any where any time. As a journalist, the challenge lies in providing accurate information as quickly
as possible.
I live and work in Moncton, New Brunswick. I moved here from Seal Cove, White Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador in
2008.
I have two degrees. In 2000, I graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a bachelor of arts in French.
This required taking part in several French immersions throughout Quebec and the French Islands of St. Pierre-Miquelon.
I
also have a bachelor of applied arts in journalism. I graduated from Ryerson University with this degree in 2002. While studying
journalism, I learned how to report for newspapers, radio and television. I also took part in an internship at CTV News in
Toronto. A great experience.
I love to travel and would recommend it to anyone.
